
For the 3rd year in a row I had involvement in the amazing talent ID programme that is the Zwift Academy. Having developed the idea of creating American Idol on Bikes/Bake Off on Bikes, whilst Director of Creative & Editorial at Zwift, I moved over from being the client at Zwift in 2021, to Showrunning for GCN in 2022 & Directing a 5 x 40min sports competition reality series for Eurosport & Youtube.
Pulling over 100 people together for 10 days, both on and off screen, pro riders, their team coaches & staff, presenters, contestants, clients, 3rd party brands, sports psychologists, a large camera crew and then keeping everyone in their best form to deliver what was needed for an in the moment sports narrative piece was my challenge.
I was fortunate enough to have a fantastic team of people around me to help pull it off in every area, which allowed us to deliver 5 episodes on a relatively quick turn around.
It was a thoroughly amazing opportunity to watch some of the greatest amateur athletes on the planet get a chance to be plucked from obscuirty, battle for their dream, alongside their heroes, and supported by the best in the business. Truly a unique show to work on.
